The Problem
Conservatory’s, as any owner is aware become very uncomfortable whenever it is sunny. The root cause of the problem is the roof, and to a lesser extent the side windows allowing in over 80% of the suns heat and glare. This heat is then trapped inside making the room extremely hot and uncomfortable. The suns glare and fading may also be of concern. Blinds may help with the glare bu
t stop little or no heat and are expensive and dusty.
The Economic and Simple Solution
This must be achieved by reducing the suns heat and glare passing through the glazing. Ultra Stop can do this effectively using two products for different types of conservatory glazing.
- Solar Films for Glass Panels
- Solar Inserts for Plastic/ Polycarbonate roof panels
Solar Film for Glass Roof Consevatories
Reflective Solar Films
For plastic (polycarbonate) roof panels normal solar films are not suitable.
Ultra Stop have over 10 years experience of installing solar inserts into plastic roof conservatory’s. A solar insert is a similar reflective material to solar film but has no adhesive. As shown in the picture the solar insert is installed into each of the top channels of panels in your roof. Normally this is done in situ without the need to remove panels. The solar inserts are made of a this strip of polyester that are cut into a suitable width. They are coated with a thin layer of aluminium which is highly reflective to the suns heat and glare. The inserts are transparent and will prevent +80% of the suns heat and glare passing through the roof.
